Ausable Bayfield Maitland Valley Drinking Water Source Protection Region
This website is about work to protect municipal drinking water sources in the Maitland Valley and Ausable Bayfield source protection areas.
These two watersheds are working together, in partnership, for protection of drinking water sources, as the Ausable Bayfield Maitland Valley Source Protection Region.
A local source protection committee was formed in 2007.
This was made possible by a law called the Ontario Clean Water Act, 2006.
To find out about the local membership and the work of this committee please visit our source protection committee page by clicking the link for ‘The Committee’ in the home page tab.
The Province of Ontario approved locally developed source protection plans which took effect in April of 2015.
Find out about how these plans impact you – directly or indirectly – and about how you can keep local drinking water sources safe and clean.
There are fact sheets and other products on this website.
You are also invited to contact staff through our contact and feedback form or our staff contact list.
Thank you for all the work you do to reduce risk to our clean, safe, local drinking water.
