A Few Words About Carol
Carol Leeming grew up on a farm in Huron County. She purchased her first farm, in the Seaforth area, almost 40 years ago. She currently farms 1,200 acres and has a mix of crops and poultry (laying hens).
Carol has a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Master of Science in Rural Planning and Development from the University of Guelph.
Carol is a retired Registered Professional Planner for the County of Huron with more than 30 years of municipal planning experience.
A champion of stewardship, she has implemented many stewardship projects on her own farms. She has planted windbreaks and increased organic matter to improve soil resiliency.
A strong, community-minded person, Carol has been a representative on many local boards including the Huron County Egg Farmers; Huron County Federation of Agriculture; Huron County Soil and Crop Improvement Association; and the Hensall Co-op.
As a member on the Ausable Bayfield Maitland Valley Drinking Water Source Protection Committee (SPC), Carol looks forward to representing the agricultural community on the committee. She draws from her extensive professional background and personal experiences to implement locally developed source protection policies for the protection of municipal drinking water supplies.
