 March 26 deadline for comments on provincial source protection plans regulations document

On January 25, 2005, the Regulation Proposal Notice for the regulatory components to support the development and implementation of source protection plans under the Clean Water Act, 2006, were posted to the Environmental Registry. This notice provides a summary of the draft regulation (which would be an amendment to O. Reg 287/07 — the General Regulation under the Act), but does not cover every provision contained in the draft regulation.
As a part of the government's commitment to implement all of the recommendations of the Walkerton Inquiry, and to implement the source protection framework set out by the Act, the government is developing regulations under the Act to support the development and implementation of source protection plans across the province. The posting of the draft regulation provides an opportunity to comment, and therefore assist in the development of the regulatory framework
This proposal has been posted for a 60 day public review and comment period starting January 25, 2010. If you have any questions, or would like to submit your comments, please do so by March 26, 2010 to the individual listed under "Contact" on the posting. Additionally, you may submit your comments on-line through the webpage. All comments received prior to March 26, 2010 will be considered as part of the decision-making process by the Ministry of the Environment if they are submitted in writing or electronically using the form provided in this notice and reference EBR Registry number 010-8766.
