Draft Proposed Assessment Reports Available for Inspection, Public Meetings Scheduled

The Ausable Bayfield Maitland Valley Drinking Water Source Protection Committee (SPC) would like to invite public comment on draft proposed assessment reports for the Ausable Bayfield Source Protection Area and the Maitland Valley Source Protection Area. Members of the public are welcome to attend any of several public meetings scheduled to provide an opportunity to review, read and inspect these reports and provide comments.
Assessment reports are required under the Ontario Clean Water Act, 2006 for each source protection area in the region. The reports describe the local watershed areas and available water supply, identify vulnerable areas where drinking water sources might face a risk of contamination or depletion, assess threats to drinking water within those vulnerable areas, and provide information necessary for the development of source protection plans by the source protection committee.
These reports are now completed for the Ausable Bayfield and Maitland Valley source protection areas and available for public review. Copies of the draft proposed assessment reports are available for reading and inspection at the following locations:
